John Clark enlisted at the age of 30 on 8/15/1862 at Stamford, NY as a 1st Lieutenant. On 9/27/1862 he was commissioned into Co. “H”, 144th New York Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 6/25/1865 at Hilton Head, SC. Intra Regimental Company Transfers: 3/12/1863 from Company “H” to Company “E”. He was promoted to Captain on 3/4/1863 (as of Co. “E”). [sl]
