Revenue stamp and pencil inscriptions on back.  The name “Frazier” is written in period pencil at top; more recent pencil on edge notes Company, Regiment, and proper spelling of name.

Charles Fraser was from Philadelphia. He enlisted on 3/24/1864 as a Private. On 3/24/1864 he mustered into "G" Co. PA 186th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 8/15/1865 at Philadelphia, PA.

One Hundred and Eighty-sixth Infantry. — Col. Henry A. Frink. This regiment was recruited in the city of Philadelphia and was mustered into the U. S. service from Jan. 29 to May 31, 1864, for three years. Col. Frink had previously served as major and lieutenant-colonel of the 11th infantry. The 186th was assigned to provost duty in the city of Philadelphia and did not go to the front. It was mustered out there on Aug. 15, 1865.  [jet]
