Nice clear image of a young seated cavalryman wearing a dark slouch hat with cord and regimental number “3” on the front of the crown, dark cavalry shell jacket, light mounted trousers and on his hands he wears a pair of light leather gauntlets.
Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Mount and papr are good.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint for FULLER…MADISON, WIS.
Image has a verbal ID of Watson Pruyn.
Pruyn enlisted as a private in Company L, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry on February 12, 1864 and was mustered out on July 14, 1865.
While Pruyan served with the 3rd it saw minor action in Arkansas. [ad]
