CDV image of John W. Corlies posed with one hand resting on the hilt of his sword. He wears a dark kepi with the numeral “8” at center of an oakleaf wreath on the front, dark frockcoat with 2nd lieutenant’s shoulder straps. At his waist is his belt with rectangular plate with a Model 1850 Foot Officer’s sword attached.
Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Image is housed in a small oval wood frame with a cream-colored mount that nicely matches the tone of the image.
Reverse of the CDV could not be observed for a photographer’s imprint due to it being framed.
John W. Corlies was born on February 13, 1843.
