CDV FULL STANDING VIEW OF AN UNASSUMING UNION OFFICER

$85.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 697-1059

CDV image of a bearded Union officer posed in the classic Napoleon style. He wears a dark shell jacket with a low collar and matching dark trousers. The jacket is very subdued having nine cuff sized buttons down the front and three on each sleeve. The jacket also has 2nd Lieutenant shoulder straps which appear to be very plain, single bordered affairs. At the officers waist is his sword belt with rectangular eagle belt plate. This plate is of the NCO variety with the silver applied wreath. At his side is a Model 1850 Foot Officer’s sword which is suspended from a thin unpretentious baldric passing from right to left across the subject’s chest.

Image is very clear with very good contrast. The mount appears to be trimmed along the sides. Reverse is blank.

Image comes from a large Massachusetts collection.
