WONDERFUL OUTDOOR VIEW OF TWO UNIDENTIFIED UNION OFFICERS

Item Code: 697-752

CDV sized outdoor view of two Union officers posed in front of their wall-tent. One subject is standing with his left arm resting on the center pole of the tent while the other is seated. The standing officer wears a forage cap, dark frock coat and matching dark trousers. At his waist is his sword belt with rectangular eagle plate. The image is clear enough to see that the plate is the NCO variety with the applied silver wreath. Stuffed in the belt is what looks to be a pocket Colt revolver. In the officer’s right hand is his Model 1850 Foot Officer’s sword out of the scabbard and positioned with the point down. The seated subject is dressed the same as the standing officer with a forage cap, dark frock coat and dark trousers. This officer’s coat is open to reveal a matching dark vest. In his left hand he holds his Model 1850 Foot Officer's sword still in the scabbard and hanging from his lips is a long-stemmed pipe.

The tent behind the two subjects stands on a wooden floor. Inside the tent are what looks to be back to back field desks with books stacked on the writing surface on each side. There are three boxes stacked one on top of the other on the desks to provide extra shelving.

The image is very clear but the contrast is just a little light. The paper and mount have light surface dirt. The reverse is blank.

The width of the image and mount is slightly larger than CDV size.
