This is different from the standard issue cavalry shell jacket. The subject also wears light trousers and boots. The subject sits with one arm resting on a tabletop. Next to his arm is his enlisted man’s kepi with crossed sabers and the numeral “1” in front.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint JOHN A. BEARD…BOSTON. The image is very clean and clear with good contrast.
