Item Code: 344-641

Full standing view of a young looking Union cavalryman standing at the position of “Parade Rest” in front of a painted backdrop of what appears to be a lake scene. The contrast is a little light so the backdrop is hard to make out. The subject wears an issue Cavalry shell jacket, dark trousers, sword belt and shoulder strap and forage cap. His hands rest in front of him on the hilt of his drawn saber. Tucked in his belt he has a small Smith & Wesson pistol. Passing diagonally through the upper right hand corner of the image is a gathered U.S. flag. The corner of the paper image is chipped just above this flag. Otherwise, the image is in very good condition. No photographer’s imprint on back.
