This unidentified CDV is of a young soldier with his sleeves rolled up to show how he was wounded in his right arm. This image was apparently taken as an example of how individuals survived injuries or surgeries. It is marked in red ink, “1678 COMB. PHOT, UNKNOWN”. It likely came from a Civil War surgeon’s collection of images of patients showing their various wounds.
Image is clear with good contrast. Some light surface dirt is present.
