CDV is a full standing view of a young Union soldier who is wearing a dark colored frock coat, light colored trousers and brogans with mud splattered on them. He is standing next to a small table which is covered in a floral tablecloth. On the table, rests his forage cap. His hand is holding a book which is also on the table.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint which reads, “JNO. HOLYLAND, METROPOLITAN GALLERY, 250 PENNSYLVANIA AVE. WASHINGTON, D.C.”.

Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age.  [sm]
