A very young boy, perhaps 7 or so years old is the subject of this nice image. The boy wears a light Zouave style jacket with a white shirt under it that has a collar that folds over the jacket collar. He also wears dark trousers that stop short of the ankles and low cut boots.

His drum is slung around his neck and sits about waist high and he holds his sticks as ready to play. The body of the drum looks to be decorated with a scrolled ribbon design in a small area at front.

Image has good clarity and contrast with light surface dirt throughout.
