Image shows a clean-shaven soldier seated at a covered table with his wife standing next to him with one hand resting on his shoulder.
The soldier wears a dark frock coat with sergeant chevrons on each sleeve, a light vest with watch chain and key visible and light trousers with a wide NCO leg stripe. The vest is open to reveal a long striped tie underneath. Looking closely with a loop you can see the subject is wearing lace-up boots similar to modern work boots.
The lady in the image wears a pillbox type hat with a feather or animal tail across the front with a single long tassel in the back. She wears a dark bodice and skirt. The bodice has white accents at the lower shoulders and sleeve ends as well as a white lace collar and brooch. The chest of the bodice has an area of white piping in the shape of a downward facing arrow. This is embellished by 8 brass buttons. The bottom edge of the bodice is also outlined in white and the subject wears dark undersleeves to match the dress.
Image has excellent clarity and contrast and is very clean.
Reverse has collector information in pencil. There is no back mark. [ad]
