Subject stands with one hand resting on a low column. He wears a dark forage cap, dark frock coat with 1st Sergeant chevrons and light trousers with a dark, wide NCO leg stripe. At his waist is a sash and belt with rectangular Pattern 1851 NCO plate and empty scabbard. He wears leather gauntlets on his hands and holds his Model 1840 NCO sword, point downward, in his right hand.

Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Mount and paper are good.

Reverse is blank.

With his long beard and forage cap pulled down low over his eyes, this Sergeant appears ready for business.  [ad]
