Nice clear image of a young Naval officer. He wears a dark cap with a light bad around the base of the crown, a double-breasted frock coat with shoulder straps and single stripe on each cuff and matching trousers. At his waist is his sword belt with circular two-piece tongue and wreath plate and just visible above his left hip is the hilt of his Model 1852 naval officer’s sword.
Clarity and contrast is excellent. Mount edges have light surface dirt from age.
Reverse is blank.
Good quality image for a general Navy display. [ad]
