Nice image of a young clean shaven officer posed with one hand resting on the back of a chair and the other resting on his hip while holding his slouch hat.
Subject wears a dark frock coat with clearly visible captain’s shoulder straps and light trousers with a thin dark leg stripe. Coat is unbuttoned at the midriff to expose a dark vest and watch chain. Visible on the slouch hat is an infantry hunting horn insignia with an indiscernible number at center and a hat cord.
Image has good clarity and contrast. Mount and paper have light surface dirt from ag and storage but is otherwise good.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint for M. H. KIMBALL…NEW YORK. [ad]
