Image shows a very young Union Private wearing a dark sack coat, white shirt and thin bowtie. A close look at the boy’s face makes one think that he can’t be more than 16 or 17 years old. We can only hope that he survived the war.
Image has good clarity and contrast but there are a number of spots scattered over the image that look to be a flaws in the paper or developing of the negative. Though they are noticeable they do not hurt the composition. Bottom corners of the mount are clipped.
Reverse is blank. [ad]
