The officer in this image stands in a slight right profile. He wears a dark frock coat with captain’s shoulder straps with a dark rank field. He also wears dark trousers with a thin light colored leg stripe and knee high boots. At his waist is his sash and belt with rectangular Pattern 1851 plate and Model 1850 Field and Staff Officer’s sword. In his right hand he holds his dark forage cap with a “US” within a wreath on the front.
Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Paper and mount are good.
Reverse is blank except for some collector information in pencil. [ad]
