Hinged case is meant to house two wet plate images. Outside of case shows a raised Victorian-era image of a mother holding her child with a dog lying next to them. Inside is lined in embossed burgundy velvet. Maker’s imprint is present, “LITTLEFIELD, PARSON’S & CO.” and has a patent date of 1856 & 1857. Very good condition with a small chip at a corner, and a small faded spot on the velvet.
Measures 6 ¼” x 3 ¾” x 1”. [sl]
