Hinged case is meant to house a sixth- plate sized wet plate image. Outside of case features a raised image of a mother and child with a dog, while other side shows scenes of firemen. Inside of case is lined with embossed rust colored velvet. Manufacturer’s label has a patent date of 1856 & 1857. Very good condition with some very slight scratches and chips at edges and corners.
