This is a full standing view of a man who is wearing a dark colored frock coat, vest, trousers, white shirt with cravat and top hat. He is holding a lead which is attached to a large light colored steer or bull that is standing in front of him. In the background are two buildings and a carriage.
Image is clear with fair contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred.
Image comes housed in full pressed paper case, which is in good condition. Case is lined in dark red colored velvet with an embossed design. Case is split. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image. Image is sized just under the half plate standard.
This ambrotype was part of a unique collection of images that featured animals. [sm]
