EIGHTH PLATE AMBRYOTYPE OF UNION SOLDIER IN HARDEE HAT

$225.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 149-17

Image is a full standing view of a young clean-shaven Union soldier posed in the right angle of a balustrade with his left arm resting on the railing.

The subject wears the regulation uniform of a dark frock coat with piping on the collar and cuffs and light trousers. On his head he wears a black felt dress or “Hardee” hat with the infantry hunting horn at center. The hat is devoid of any regimental numbers or company letters. Hunting horn and coat buttons are touched with gilt.

Image is very clear with good contrast but the emulsion appears to be streaked or scratched along the left background and right edge.

Image comes housed in a complete leather case with a very nice geometric decorated brass mat and usual brass frame.  [ad]
