This is a three- quarter view of a girl who is sitting in a chair with a cat on her lap. Girl is wearing a checkered, wide necked dress. Her short hair is parted down the middle and tucked behind her ears.

Image is clear with good contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred.

Image comes housed in full pressed paper case, which is in good condition.  Case is lined in red velvet which has an embossed design. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image.

This ambrotype was part of a unique collection of images that featured animals.     [sm]
