Ninth plate ambrotype of a young man. He appears to wear a “battle style” overshirt, with two large breast pockets and dark trim from placket to collar, similar to those worn by Mississippi troops. Upon magnification, there is a “club” pattern print on his sleeves and below the shoulder line. It appears that he has a revolver in a holster on his belt at lower left. The image is clear with good facial detail. It is housed in a leatherette case with clasp present. The binding has been repaired with electrical tape. [jc/ld]
