This is an uncased ambrotype of a seated Union officer. He is posed in full uniform: single breasted frock with shoulder straps, sword belt, saber, and trousers with piping. His kepi is on table next to him. Buttons and other details are gilted. Clear image with light oxidation around the perimeter. Stamped copper frame holds the image, glass and copper mat together. This just needs a case.  [jet]
