NINTH PLATE AMBROTYPE OF A WONDERFUL LITTLE BOY IN UNION CASE

Wonderful image of a little boy seated in a chair. He wears a light shell jacket with an eight button front. Buttons looks as though they could be brass military buttons. Jacket has a large white collar. Childs hair is neatly combed and his cheeks are tinted a nice rose color.

Clarity and contrast are very good.

Brass mat is scalloped and is scroll decorated as is the frame. Frame is flattened down across the top.

Union case has a wonderful “church window” decoration with a raised border.

Case with brass hinges is in excellent condition and is free of cracks and chips. Interior red velvet pillow is decorated with an embossed lyre shaped floral decoration.    [ad]
