Waist up view of man with dark hair, in a dark civilian suit and vest. Man is identified as Michael Roup, 1776-1859. Image is clear with good contrast. Some light surface dirt on the image. Some oxidation on the edges of the plate, as well as on the face.
Image comes housed in decorative mat and frame in full cloth case. Case is split and in two separate pieces, where it was once attached. Left side of case is lined in embossed red velvet.
