This is a waist-up sitting view of a beautiful young lady in the 1850’s. She has her dark hair parted in the center and pulled back, mostly covering her ears. She is wearing an open neckline dress with trimmed sleeves.  A medallion or possibly locket hangs on a cord from her neck.

Image is clear with very good contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred.

Image comes housed in a half pressed paper case, which shows light wear. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image.  [SL]
