SIXTH PLATE TINTYPE OF DOUBLE ARMED UNION SOLDIER

$350.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: P13959

Image is a three-quarter standing view of a bearded Union soldier holding a cigar between his lips. He wears a dark forage cap with the chinstrap pushed up near the crown. He also wears a dark four-button sack coat with matching trousers. His coat is open at the throat to reveal one of the world’s biggest bow-ties. The coat also appears to be a bit large for him. At his waist is a belt with an 1850’s militia plate with a spread-winged eagle in a frame surrounded by 13 stars. Stuffed in his belt is a medium sized side knife in the scabbard. In front of him he holds what looks to be a Model 1816 musket.

Image is clear and the contrast is good but it would be nicer if it was just a tad brighter.

Photo is housed in a full leather case with decorative frame and mat.  [ad]
