Image shows a Union soldier seated in a chair while his wife and/or female relative stands beside him. The soldier wears a dark nine button frock coat open to reveal a matching military vest, He also wears light trousers. The buttons on the vest and coat are touched with gilt but a close examination of the coat buttons show they are of three piece construction. The woman wears a dark cape over a dark dress with white collar. Her hair appears to bundled into a snood at the back.

Image is clean and clear but the plate does have some slight waviness to it.

Plate is housed in a brass mat and frame but there is no case or glass. Corners of the frame have wear and surface dirt.

Nice image. [ad]
