Young beardless soldier seated in a chair holding his musket by his side with the barrel facing forward. He wears a dark forage cap at a jaunty angle with a Company letter “D” attached to the front. The letter has been touched with guilt paint by the photographer but it can still be made out. The subject also wears a dark frock coat with light trousers along with his accoutrements of a cartridge box and waist belt with plates. His cap box is also visible.
Image has good contrast and clarity but it is cloudy around the edges. There is not enough of the musket visible to determine the model.
Photo comes with the standard scrollwork mat and frame in a complete leather case. [ad]
