This uncased plate is smaller than a half plate but large than a sixth plate. It meas. approx. 3.50 x 5.00 inches.
Image is a full seated view of an unidentified Union private seated next to his wife and child. The soldier wears a dark buttoned up frock coat with matching dark trousers. His wife wears a light-colored dress with a dark over garment. In her lap is their child which wears a white shirt and plaid dress. The child holds a stereo viewer with a card in place for viewing. All three subjects have red tinted cheeks.
Image is very good contrast with excellent clarity. Top edge is trimmed on a crooked line. Upper and lower left corners are clipped. [ad]
