This is a full view of a man sitting on a horse. Man is wearing a dark colored coat, light colored trousers and hat. There are several structures and trees present in the background. There is a small note on the image which reads, “W.F. BROWN AS HE APPEARED ON HIS WAY TO CALIFORNIA”.

Image is clear with good contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred.

Image comes housed in full pressed paper case, which is in very good condition.  Case is lined in dark gold colored velvet which has an embossed design. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image.

This tintype was part of a unique collection of images that featured animals.  [sm]
