Frame is an oval that meas. approx. 5.25 x 5.75 inches with a deep recess at center for holding the photograph. Frame has a beaded exterior border and a similar interior border.

The image housed in the frame is an 1870’s or 80’s tintype of a man wearing a dark triple breasted shell jacket and light trousers. Jacket has brush epaulettes and squares of lace with buttons on each cuff. In his hands the subject holds a small brass horn.

Image is clear with good contrast.

The reverse of the frame has the original cardboard backing with a small brass “O” ring for hanging on the wall.    [AD]
