The body of this shell is very smooth and not exposed to the elements for too long. Painted in three lines in white ink is “U.S., 10 pd Parrott, Schenkl Fuse.” Some of the “h” in Schenkl has chipped off. No sabot. Nice Schenkl fuse with fuse plug in nose. Fuse plug will unscrew. Fuse has sharp markings that read “J. P. Schenkl, Pat. Oct. 16, 1861.”
