This is an excavated example, originating from an unknown location. The plate shown here is of an early war production (pre-1863 ) having the brass stud-type belt attachments and hook. Face of this buckle has multitudes of nick, dents & scratches as well as numerous edge dents. Reverse lead filled section shows weathering and ground action.
