This tin drum canteen is complete except for the spout and two sling keepers. Both sides of the canteen have small scattered holes caused by rust. One side has a hole at center that meas. approx. 2.75 x 1.25 inches with curled in edges like it was struck by a shell fragment or something else solid. The same side has a crease that was no doubt caused by a plow blade. The item was dug near the Crater at Petersburg. From the Sid Kerksis collection.
