Near complete set of Civil War period handcuffs dug at Berkley’s Plantation on the Fair Oaks battlefield. The set appears to be complete except for the missing key. One of the cuffs is frozen open. Chain links still move freely despite the heavy surface rust throughout. Item comes with old handwritten tag that reads “CIVIL WAR HANDCUFFS FOUND AT BERKLEY’S PLANTATION (FAIR OAKS). Tag has been reattached with new string as the old string rotted away.
