Bayonet is complete. Active red rust has been cleaned and the surfaces preserved with a thin coat of clear lacquer. Surfaces are pitted and locking ring is frozen. Old, worn, typed paper label attached to the blade reads “CONFEDERATE RIFLED BAYONET FOUND AT THE BLOODY ANGLE, SPOTSYLVANIA-MAY 18, 1864.”
