The face of this SNY cartridge box plate has a nice dark patina but shows wear from use. There are numerous small scratches and a dent in the letter “N.” The dent is small and on only one arm of the letter.
The reverse has 100% of the lead fill. There are no remains or signs of the hooks that were once present on the back. The reverse also has a painted white square with “537 N.Y. MILITIA CART. BX. PLATE-1ST MANASSAS” written inside.
Item comes housed in a riker box with a small tag that reads “SNY CARTRIDGE BOX PLATE FOUND AT 1ST MANASSAS…”
