This brass Confederate frame buckle meas. approx. 2.50 x 2.75 inches. The patina on the surfaces is light with a greenish tint. The plate is complete with no cracks or chips but the upper right has a slight bend.

The plate was recovered at Appomattox. It comes housed in a riker box with a hand drawn map showing where the plate was found in 1991. This map is housed under the foam padding of the box.
