Plain brass clipped corner plate meas. approx. 2.50 inches long x 1.75 inches wide. The face and back have a nice dark patina with some light discoloration from ground action on the front. It is a little heavier on the reverse. The plate is slightly convex with some waviness to it.
The reverse has the remains of the tongue and hook attachments. The only thing that remains is the center portion. The actual tongue and hooks are gone.
Item comes housed in a riker box. Under the foam padding of the riker box is a hand drawn map showing where the plate was recovered. The area of recovery was just above the Widow Tapp’s farm.
