This is the complete brass throat off of a scabbard for a Model 1840 NCO sword. The piece is slightly dented on the reverse. The ornate brass tab which anchors the scabbard to the frog is still present on the front.

Reverse has an old typed label that reads “SWORD SCABBARD ORANGE COUNTY VIRGINIA CAMPSITE.”
