Brass piece that meas. approx. 3.00 inches in length. The very bottom of the piece has a ribbed circle with a smaller protuberance emanating from its center with a decorative line over the circumference. The body of the piece has some subtle dents and a slight twist near the top where the drag broke off of the scabbard.
Typed label reads “NCO SWORD SCABBARD TIP FOUND ON THE WHITE OAK SWAMP BATTLEFIELD, VA.”
The battle of White Oak Swamp was part of the Seven Days Battles before Richmond and was fought on June 30, 1862.
