DUG CIVIL WAR NORTH CAROLINA STATE SEAL CUFF BUTTON RECOVERED AT THE WILDERNESS

$150.00 SOLD
Originally $200.00

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: R18594

This artifact is a dug example of a two-piece Confederate ‘local’ brass cuff button as worn on the uniforms of North Carolina soldiers. Retains just a few traces of original gold gilt on the face which shows no depression.   Classed as a NC210As1 in Warren’s Tice’s reference volume. The circular, 14mm brass device exhibits the Great Seal of North Carolina with much rust oxidation overall. Backside is blank with a depressed channel.  Shank strong and intact but has been bent over. This North Carolina State seal button would make a nice addition to any Civil War button display or to a North Carolina focused collection.
