This shell is in good condition. Most of the active rust has been removed so only surface rust remains. There does not appear to be any material loss and the pitting is moderate near the top. The fuse is a Bormann fuse that has been distorted through firing or ground action.
This shell was meant for use in the 12 pound Napoleon smoothbore.
