This smooth shell was produced at the Confederate Armory in Marshall, Texas. The body has moderate to heavy pitting throughout. The copper band sabot has three cut notches and shows some wear from being in the ground or having been fired. The iron at center of the base has a round hole cut at center. There is no fuse.

This is a very rare Confederate shell that was recovered in Mississippi.
