The body of this shell is mostly clean and smooth with light surface wear and very light surface rust. Running around the shell at the mid-point is an obvious mold seam. Still present in the fuse hole is the remains of a wooden fuse adapter.
Shell came strapped to a wooden sabot and was meant for use in a 24 pound smoothbore gun.
