Two piece “CS” tongue and wreath plate dug from an unknown location. The surfaces of the plate have a uniform dark patina throughout. Because of the patina and poor casting the details of the wreath are somewhat subdued but visible. The “CS” casting on the tongue is not crisp or sharp but good.
The unfortunate thing about this plate is that both the keepers have broken off. They are present and match at the break points so they are original to the plate. The keeper on the tongue broke where it meets the face while the keeper on the wreath broke where it meets the edge of the wreath. There is no missing material in the area of the breaks.
