This smoothbore projectile has the Bormann replacement fuse plug. When Southern arsenals discontinued the manufacture of this type of fuse by 1863, it was replaced with this oversized copper fuse plug that screws into the under plug threads. Light areas of surface pitting. Found in Richmond, VA.
