This button is fragile and comes mounted on a card with a brass holder. Clearly visible on the face is the number “33.” The mount holding the button is attached to a small card that has the recovery information on the back. There is no shank and the face is cracked.
With the item is a handwritten label that reads “NEW YORK CITY (THE BRONX), WEST OF THE HARLEM RIVER IN 1892 (THE 33RD OF FOOT LANDED NEAR THERE AT DAVREL HILL; FT. GEORGE, ON NOV. 16, 1776. BATTLE OF FT. WASHINGTON. Then in a different color ink is “REV. WAR BRITISH OFFICER 33RD REGT.”
